If you have an older card it might be a tad slow. It ran pretty well for me at 1280x1024 with 4xAA/8xAF (never dipped below 32 fps) but I ran it on a 6800U.

Yeah I have to say these trees arent that impressive. You cant model the complexity of a plant's DNA and years of environmental effects, damage and mutation with simple "speedtree" equations. It will still take a highly skilled artist to capture the look of a real tree for some years to come.

It's like saying you can create the most realistic people models (like dawn or dalu) with a two row piece of code.

The best trees I've seen are in BF1942, they're also soft-alpha instead of this 2-bit alpha that looks so rough and crude (but is fast). BFV trees arent that hot but I'd say almost better than in this demo.

Yeah its about a week old now :P

But generally speaking these "tech demos" tend to be the most horrific code ever written in terms of visual quality+performance. But of course "compo demos" where you have to squeeze a visual masterpiece into 16KB are the exact opposite.

I dont think NV has yet released a demo that runs perfectly (60fps) on the hardware it was written for and meant to showcase

/Ok downloaded, tried, uninstalled, deleted. Wholly unimpressive though ran ok.

Well, I try to run it and I get this error:

"Could not initialize Direct3D. You may want to check that the latest version of DirectX is currently installed on your system. Also make sure that the program was compiled with header files that match the installed DirectX DLLs."

I've got DX9.0b installed, and I'm on a ti4200 with the 45.23 drivers, any idea what's wrong?

Edit: oh, I guess it requires DX9.0c, figures

Edit: oh, I guess it ALSO requires a PS2.0 compatable card...well, that sucks. Why wouldn't they allow a demo compatable lower-class hardware? One of the things they always brag about is how scalable their engine is.
