Default kernel source packages for nvidia Installation

I'd like to properly install the drivers for my Nvidia Graphic Card.

To do this, I need the 'kernel source'-package for my running kernel,
which is Kernel 2.4.19-4GB

Where do I get this Package?

And how can I install it without using YOU (Yast2 Online Update)

You can get pretty much get any kernel dating back for quite sometime, if not the very first kernel, at www.kernel.org2.4.19 is slightly older i'd recommend updating to 2.4.24, at least.

If you need a more in-depth instruction set for setting up the kernel source I had just answered this the other day,.. info can be found at the following link; http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=37025.

Why is it that you don't want to use Yast2 anyways? I assume that's part of the toolset that came with your distro? Not familiar with it myself.

Thank you very much for the info.

I did download the files and the rest shouldn't be a problem.

To your question, I didn't wanna use it because I am not familiar with it just like you. Prefer the manual way, because this way I know what's happening...

I know, pretty stupid isn't it?

Have a great week :-)
