Default Direct Access to the eeprom?

Does anybody know if there is a way to directly access the eeprom of an nvidia card to force a flash with dd -if=image.rom of=/proc/agp/eeprom??? I have a 5600 that had a bad flash and now won't post, and isn't detected by nvflash no matter what I try. I have a voodoo3 pci card I used to try flashing it. I also tried blind flashes and outputed everything to a file, it never finds the card.

Thanks in advance

Flashing is not that easy. By default the eeprom is readonly using some tricky ways it is possible to reprogram it but not like that. For linux there are no tools to do it.

I meant that it is possible to reprogram the bios but there are no tools for it. Someone would have to write a tool to do the programming. (note that are also different types of eeproms used on nvidia cards ..)

ok then, I guess my real question is can I find out what the eeprom is by finding a chip on the board? And with nvflash can I specify what it is so I can put the old bios back on, or is my card beyond repair for what I can do at home?
