My run-in with a console boy - Page 2

I know there's no winning when trying to argue with them. But man does it bother me. I mean PC is so much more powerful, nicer looking, faster, and well..fun! Free online play, higher res, mods, extra maps, skins, patches....demos, upgradable hardware...etc.

I just want to see PC Gaming flourish and it ticks me off when Xbox or any console gets so much praise and credit for stuff like...." oh xbox live is the next step in gaming" uhm...no....pc has had online gaming for over 10 years...if they'd just give it a chance they'd realize what their missing, and Pc Gaming would be much more financially stable....but then again....at the same time...I guess it's nice having it be small too...kinda like a secret club that not so many people know about yknow? A catch 22 I suppose.... It's just the most annoying thing in the world when you buy a game thats on multiple systems and the guy at the counter sees you have a PC version...gives you a weird look and says..."uh...we got this on console too, in case you wanted to get it on a REAL system" (Had that happend back when I bought GTA3)

What I dont understand the most is, console fans bash PC Games, they bash PC's for being used for games, yet they dont see right in front of them, how rapidly consoles are emulating pc's...from online play, to hard drives, to downloadable content...

Nice to see i'm not the only one who feels this way...hehe....we gotta stick for our loving hobby!

Thing is Console =cheap and good pc setup=a small fortune. Console lasts a few years, PC...lats until the next gen games are released. So with that in mind, there is always going to be more console gamers who only have invest a fraction of what PC gamers have too.

Crazy bastards like us spending thousands of dollars every few years (or every year

) on their PC. We get a better experience, yes... but price is deffinitely one thing that scares most people away from computer gaming. Its just too damned expensive.

Until high-end, upgradeable PCs can be sold for $300-$400 (and actually ADVERTISED), this kind of thing will always happen.

I too find "the misinformed" (sounds like some horror story) to be the single most irritating thing on the planet. They all should be given a sheet sumarizing why they are wrong every time they say something stupid

In fact, if it werent illegal, id take it upon myself to hang around EB handing out flyers compairing PCs to consoles before people even open their mouths.

Yep, almost as bad as some intel fanboy telling me Hyper transport is a cheap imitation of intels hyper threading. I just couldn't stop myself from mentioning that HT isn't even strictly an AMD thing and that it is in no way related to helping multi-tasking.. I never talk about this stuff to people, but i just go off when people are so damn misinformed. It seems the majority of gamers who think they know tech stuff are.

That, I agree 100% with. I used to have a few friends this dense, but they have realised now and actually take my advice when buying a PC. I was getting a bit sick of the old "My 1.7GiGahurts!! INTEL celeron and GEE4CE 4 mx that i bought the other day won't play halo as good as my xbox! PC SUXXORS!!

Sadly, a lot of gamers (both console and PC, though console is more accessable) really don't know crap about crap and just talk out of their ass. Though given how confusing some things are, it doesn't suprise me that people jump to conclusions. Playing Halo on a PC probably WOULD give you the impression that the Xbox is more powerful...
