This might sound dumb, but, what is stopping valve from releasing it on Steam right now?

An agreement with their publisher to hold the release through steam until the game hits the shelves first.

I'm surprised no one has has suggested banning VU Games and urge all game devs to switch publishers. lol. Unless I confused VU Games for another company those guys have closed one too many good companies simply because the quality games they're putting out aren't making enough money.

If valve provided all the dev costs and stuff, why does vivendi have the right to sit on the finished game?

I say valve should dump vivendi for the next game...
