Default libnvidia-tls.so.1: cannot handle TLS data

Hi all.
1st I'm using Debian (from a Knoppix 3.4 install) and I installed the NVIDIA drivers (version 1.0-6106). Kernel is 2.4.6. My Video Card is a GForce2 MX/MX 400 with 64 Mb RAM.
My OpenGL games work fine (armagetron, tron, tuxracer), but other 3D apps don't work at all.
For example this is what I obtain when I try to run Moonlight:
"libnvidia-tls.so.1: cannot handle TLS data"
And this is what I obtain when I try to run Wings3D:
"Eshell V5.3.6.3 (abort with ^G)
1> Driver Failed {error,{open_error,"libnvidia-tls.so.1: cannot handle TLS data"}}"
As a result I cannot work with these programs, because they die in the console.
Does anyone has a clue of what is happening here? Am I missing something?
Any help is very welcome.

Smile Re: libnvidia-tls.so.1: cannot handle TLS data

Hi all once again.

It seems I have solved the problem and now Wings3d and Moonlight work fine (at last )

I've been searching in the forums and found the following solution:

I have 2 files named libnvidia-tls.so.1.0.6106 with different sizes.

One is in /usr/lib (2352 bytes) and the other is in /usr/lib/tls (2004 bytes).

I've renamed the one in /usr/lib/tls from "libnvidia-tls.so.1.0.6106" to "libnvidia-tls.so.1.0.6106-tls"

Then I've copied the "libnvidia-tls.so.1.0.6106" located at /usr/lib to /usr/lib/tls.

Now everything works fine.

Hope this helps someone else.
Bye

Default Re: libnvidia-tls.so.1: cannot handle TLS data

Solution worked perfectly for me as well, versions were slightly different but the method works. Thanks!
