Okay I am trying to install Free-BSD, I boot via the 2 floppy disks so I can go to kernel config and then install via FTP, problem is when the kernel starts to boot it crashes.
here is the exact issue and its a GPU issue. pci2: <display, VGA> at device 0.0 (no driver attached) FATAL TRAP 9: General Protection Fault while in Kernel Mode <bunch of memory addresses and file pointers> Then Im forced to reboot, I cant get past this, Ive hinted allready where my video card IRQ and memory settings are suppposed to be but with no luck, does anyone know how to get around this. I have a HP a320n which uses a athlon xp 2800, nvidia chipset, and a Geforce 4 MX, the mother board is a Asus A7X8N-LA and I have tried allready to use both BIOS settings of NON-PNP OS and PNP-OS to no avail. Pls help thank you for any responses. |
