Is it my imagination or are the Prescotts getting higher scores than the Northwood?

I would think the same would hold for 3DMark2001.

I found that with the AMDs, going from an XP2100 to a 2600-M Barton, same fsb and multi (2500 mhz), I got 1k higher 3DMark2001 scores on the Barton, with twice the L2 cache. However I did not see any difference in 3DMark2005 scores.

To my understanding, 3Dmark '05 is much more heavily reliant on the video card. This would mask any CPU benefit you would normally see in a real world situation. Put some physics and aggressive AI in that bench and you will see the difference. What are your real game-benchmark scores? Improvements?

I have five rigs, including AMD (XP and A64), P4 (DDR and RDRAM), and Coppermine. These are approximate scores I get on an XT:

AMD NF2=5450-5500 (2400-2600 mhz)
A64=5300-5500 (2500 mhz)
P4=5300-5400, barely (3.8-3.95 gig)
RDRAM=5450 (3.12 gig)

While it's true 3DMark2005 is 95% video card dependent, note the scores don't make sense. I also see Prescott guys with smaller CPUs getting higher scores than my massive Northwoods. The NF2s do exceptionally well, as well as my dated RDRAM rig. With the usual cheats, I can probably get 5600 on the RDRAM board.

3DMark2001/2000 are another matter. Nothing can touch the A64s. They are 3-4k above anything else. And I'm talking single-channel S754s, as I have yet to test my S939 DC board, which should score even higher.

71.20 driver by chance????

It does rock in this test!!

Oh - just noticed your overclock!!! - 460/1285!!!!!!! you mad man Jakup.

bet your room got nice and warm

Oh and Jakup - if want an even higher score change the PS version to 2.0b and VS to 2.0a. - scores higher than v3.0 which is contrary to everything NVIDIA told us about shader model 3.0.

Yeh I gain about 80 points switching to shader 2.0 from 3.0

also this puts our 6800's on "EVEN" ground with the ATI X800 series - after all you can't do an apples to apples test without using the same type of apple for each side................

food for thought.

Or it could mean that Futuremark doesn't code very well. My new score with these new drivers are in my sig.
