Well, it is definitly time I upgrade my cpu.

I'm using the free version of 05, and everything is left at it's default (even in the driver control panel). The only oc'd component is my cpu. Here are my specs:

A64 2800 (s754, 2.2GHz)
ASUS K8V SE Dlx
1Gb DDR400 Cas3
XFX 6800GT
Samsung SyncMaster 955DF(x) 19" CRT
550Watt TTGI/SuperFlower psu

In 05 I get about 3500 3DMarks. Kinda' low for a 6800GT, huh? Well, I'm certain it's because of my cpu because the vcard tests were all fast and seemed about right in the FPS count. Oh well. Hopefully I'll have a system running dual 7800GTs with a 3000 or 3500 s939 cpu in about a month. That should increase performance notably.

So, how does it compare to the 4000+ you had before?

Anyway, here are my latest. Doesn't seem like there is a lot of difference in performance between the various modes (High Performance, Quality, and High Quality).

Dang you beat my score again
i have nothing overclocked though .. all bone stock

as for how it compare .. well it runs cooler (the FX-55 is SD 90nm core vs 4000+ Clawhammer core) & the performance difference in games & apps is around 2-8% depending on the game/app. not bad at all! .. i'm very happy with it!

Heh, well that's pretty good then since my CPU is overclocked to 2.58ghz. 7800s are at stock (460/1300). Hmm, it looks like you'll easily be able to surpass me. I need to work on that.
