My cards were at stock (580/1750) but my CPU was at 2.64ghz. The 81.84 drivers and up, have included dual-core support. I jumped up a little over 1000 points in 3DMark when the dual-core support was added. So, it might help you some in that regard. With games though, the performance increase was smaller. I think Doom 3 had the biggest jump and it was somewhere around +10fps if I recall correctly. In other games, it was only a few frames per second difference and sometimes not any difference. The nicest benefit I've seen from the X2, is the system is more responsive (seems a little quicker). I just mention all that to help you evaluate whether it would actually be worth it to go with an X2.

Thanx for the reply Well it seems like the X2s are pretty good OCers, and less expensive than the FX-57 and the FX-60 (when It comes out) I think the real benefit will be when games support dual-core, when ever that will be, I think that Oblivion will be the first (correct me if Im wrong) With that in mind I think Im going to go with a 4800 with this for cooling http://www.xpcgear.com/zalmancnps9500.html. Thought's on the cooler please. That thing looks friggin cool

Hmm, the first time I ran it I got 14057. Every time since then, I've been at 13983 or so. The only way I get over 14k now is to overclock the cards to 600/1800 and that just got me 14007. Weird.

I'll post the details and maybe you can compare to see where it's not doing as well.

Got 14024 this time by closing ZoneAlarm and Ad Muncher. It doesn't look like 3DMark detects the clocks and memory correctly. I noticed that when looking at the details.

Are you using cool-n-quiet? If so (or even if you're not) you may want to install the Microsoft dual-core hotfix. I installed the AMD X2 CPU driver but mainly for stability and I also installed the dual-core hotfix. It increased performance a little (maybe 200-300 points in 3DMark) and I'm not using cool-n-quiet. If you are using cool-n-quiet you may even see a bigger jump in performance since there's apparently an issue in XP-32 that hurts performance when using dual-core CPUs.
