Too many install problems nivida linux amd64 driver

OK i downloaded the newest version of nivida linux driver for AMD64 NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-6111-pkg2.run and first it said i wasnt running on x86 64 but indeed im on x86 w/ AMD64 so anyways comment out that exit; in the code and then the md5 and chk sums failed hade to go comment out all those exit's; so now when i run it i get this error:

so i thought ok problem in code so i went and downloaded an older version tried that (NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-6106-pkg2.run)

but with that one i get this problem:

./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-6106-pkg2.run: line 608: ./nvidia-installer: cannot execute binary file

so yeah anybody know what i can do here.. and why (atleast it seems to be) so badly coded is my next question? errr just want to get this working. thanks.

brand new laptop just bought it its amd64 but thats not whatsr causing the other problems anyways

Sorry to tell you this but you have a 32 bit O/S and 32 bit kernel. So the 64 bit drivers just won't go. You will want to grab a 64 bit distribution.
