Why assume I'm buying the game? Not saying I won't eventually, however I did just play the original HL earlier this year... Back to the poll: there's no option to say you're not buying it.

uh, no. I was commenting to the post about "what about the warez option." That's exactly it.. I don't warez, thus this is not an option for me. I give my money to a game that I want, and right now HL2 isn't really one of them.

Actually chances are that games downloaded from Steam can be played offline just like the boxed copies of the game. Since Steam has an offline mode, any game with single-player or LAN (which is pretty much every Steam game in existance) can be played without a connection to the internet. For example the current Half-life 1 can be downloaded entirely from the Steam servers, but you can play it single-player without being online (and you don't even need a CD to play it, unlike the non-Steam HL1).

Boy, are you serious!

Lighten up. Every thread needs some fun.

But on a serious note, although someone like Kyle [H] doesn't think that the price of games is justification for warez, and i generally agree, it does nevetheless encourage the act. So if Valve want to limit warez copies of HL2 making the rounds then they better put a better price up for the Steam copies of the game. And if the price of the reatil game comes in at US$60 which means $120 Australian, then i'm may not purchase the game. I'm not going to encourage a price rise.

Sorry for the temporary hijack.

Games cost alot of money to make. If this money goes toward making Half-Life 3 better, I'm all for it
