I couldn't care less for CS, but I'd love to replay the original Half Life with an updated engine. So I'm left with the silver option, I suppose

Anyone else notice this,

Now that you can pre-order HL2 via steam, valve is kind of forceing VU Games to get HL2 to the market (assumeing valve has provided a quality RC to VU) asap because every day that goes by they lose xxxx amnout of people to CS: Source!

I have a feeling HL2 will be relased very soon!

I'm buying the DVD Collector's Edition, though I'm not happy about spending $80. I'm not buying it until I can find it on sale on like www.bensbargains.net for like $50 or $60, though.

Well, collectors Editions are usually for a limited time only... not sure how long it will be around....

yeah, there weird....like the WarCraft 3 collectors edition was still in stock 6 months after it came out. But the UT2K4 Collector's/special edition was sold out in minutes....most places only had them for pre-orders, and best buy's had like 2 or 3 copies...=/ So be careful...might not be so easy to get later.

Grrrr...want to play HL2 ASAP, but I don't want to buy it via Steam and then buy the DVD collector's edition later. I think I'll just hold out for the time being.

I've tried the whole afternoon to get those "preload" files, but all I received was a "servers are full, try again later" response

A decentralized download system like torrent would have worked way better

EDIT: Now I can see they offer the whole game. What about the legal litigation with Vivendi ?
