How is Valve thinking those Steam server will commodate the HL2 release when they can't even handle CS:Source? For a lot of ppl who want to purchase the game, the only option for several days after the release will be the retail version. What a bunch of 's:....

Well thats why most of HL2 files have preloaded already... its to keep the servers from being jammed up once its released. Once it is released, only a small file will be needed.

www.steampowered.com, if it's not showing up when you start Steam.

I am about to order Silver package now, I found something very interesting Valve never mentioned as part of Silver package, it seem Valve decided to added two more games: Condition Zero and Condition Zero Deleted Scenes and cheeky Valve never ever mentioned about tax at all!!! I hope I wont pay tax since I am live in the UK.

I though one of the advantages of electronic distribution was to cut costs down. This looks like a real ripoff to me.

70$ for many hours of download and a lame DVD-R (not included btw) ?

No thanks, I'll wait for a boxed version to appear in the stores.

I only have one MAJOR issue with the steam thingy....

..... I don't have a credit card....
I want the day of defeat source! It won't be on the DVD edition? Why not? This isn't right. People that have a credit card get more. I will pay more for the day of defeat source if it was sold in stores, but im cut off. Now I'm not mad about this. Just a bit dissapointed.

I'm buying the DVD version because it has the most source software possible from the store.
Shame on you valve. I wanted it all and your limiting me. Everyone says to not get a credit card.... that they are super dangerous things... and you only reward the dangerous ones.

$60 actually, and it includes DOD:Source, Half-life: Source, and Valve's entire past line of games (including Opposing Force, Blue Shift, and Counter Strike: Condiditon Zero). And through Steam, you have access to all of those things immediately rather than waiting for the store release, not a bad deal if you think about it. But remember: you can install and play those games from ANY computer that has internet access, you don't have to have any discs or anything with you to play Steam games.

Although I'm not sure about whether or not DOD:S will be included with the collector's edition or not. At first DOD:S was only listed to be availible with the Gold package, but now it also comes with the Silver, it seems. Perhaps they'll add DOD:S to the collector's edition, as well?

Can you tell me your source for stating that DOD:S will be included with the silver option on steam please.
I just checked the official H2 website and it doesn't show that

....
nevermind. I just found it on the H2 forum. Now I just wish it will be included on the DVD edition.
