You have to get Steam and preorder HL2 in Steam. You will get CS:S free, but you'll have to download the entire thing (you'll also have to download HL2 which you cant play for another month or so).

And yeah, they started charging for games, like...20 years ago, I think.

What he means is that he don't have to buy it. No one is making him. But if he wants to play it then yes he does. :P

As for Half Life 2, it's done. Valve is now waiting for Vivendi to release it.

You cannot purchase CS:Source separate from half life 2 since CS is a Half Life mod. CS:Source will be included in the Half Life 2 DVD in stores.
