Default Halo 2: Gold

Just caught the top story over at Bungie.net.

Only 29 days away... Who's planning on hitting their local Midnight Madness event?

(I know it's not PC-gaming, but thought that people might be interested nonetheless. Please delete/move if I've got the wrong forum)

I'm going to see if I can, then head back home, get an hour of sleep, wake up, go to the airport, go to Las Vegas, come back, then Halo 2 my brains out.

Woot! Damn, as if I didn't have enough games to play lately: Kingdom Under Fire comes out tomorrow, Otogi 2 and DOA:U later this month, and next month I'll be playing Halo 2 and (hopefully) Half-life 2. It's times like these that I'm glad I have a job so I can pay for all these games

And yeah, I think I'll be crazy and pick it up at midnight, assuming my local Gamestop is doing that (which they probably will, I went to their midnight Dreamcast opening as well). I preordered the Collector's Edition too, so I'll be getting that bonus DVD and the cool metal case. BTW, they're going to be showing a new Halo 2 trailer in movie theaters starting on October 30th, I saw the first part of it and it looked REALLY cool .

I must admit, I didn't expect to get caught up in the Halo 2 hype. I remember way back at E3 2003 I thought "oh sure, it looks cool, but it just can't match up to Half-life 2". Then more and more information got released on Halo 2, and more and more information (and delays) got released for Half-life 2, and I found I became equally excited for both of them because each sounded so insanely cool in their own way. I don't think I'll be let down by either of them, especially with the recent Half-life 2 reviews flowing in. Ahh, it's a good day to be a gamer.

If you're lucky, you'll recoup the cost of the game.

Since we have no console forum then i see no harm in posting console related news here .

& good to hear that a highly-anticipated game like Halo 2 has gone gold !

Heh, I needed to use up my vacation time before the end of the year (no rollover for me), so I took Nov. 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th off. I'll be at my EB at 11:30 sharp.

And then I won't see daylight until the following Monday. I gotta start building up a small stockpile of food and caffeine.

I have it reserved and 50% paid for at the local game shop....so no midnight madness for me. I'll be picking it up 11/9 ...Nice to hear it went gold....the "G" word seems to be rare these days when it comes to anticipated titles. If PC games continue to fall into the trend of unlimited delays, I may just jump on the xbox2 bandwagon and hang up my pc gaming boots.

I hope they change their mind and come out with a PC version. I really liked the original and read all the paperbacks. I don't want to get an xbox just to play this game.

I can't wait either. I'm really looking forward to a lot of console gaming stuff that's coming out pretty soon, and this definitely tops my list. I wish I had vacation days to use, I gotta work that whole week. ARG.

No need to hang up any boots, ultimate17. I've had to become a bit pickier about what I buy, but otherwise, it's all good.

Oh yeah: Majortom - and to think that I thought your avatar was saying "Relax!" all this time...
