Laptop primary display config

How do I configure the internal flat panel of my laptop as the primary display?

Please post (as an attached file, see the bottom of the post page)...
- your current X config so we know what you're working with (/etc/X11/xorg.conf or /etc/X11/XF86Config)
- your current X log, so we know what its not doing (/var/log/Xorg.0.log or /var/log/XFree86.0.log)

and a little more info about your laptop and what you are attaching to it -- (asking a good question takes a little more work)
