Thanks for the tip....
But HDR is already enabled with all settings placed on their highest... at least on my system. I have a GeForce 6800GT flashed to an Ultra, Athlon XP 3200+ processor and 1 GB of 3200 DDR RAM. I tried first with the command line extension and without, and saw no difference. My best guess would be that the FarCry 1.3 patch detects the video card and enables on default, assuming of coarse all video settings are on highest . |

Press the ~ button on your keyboard. This will bring down a green box you can type into. Make sure AA is disabled as HDR wont work with it turned on. Then type \r_hdrrendering 7 and press enter. You should notice a huge difference. Also make sure all setting are set to Very High (Needed for HDR) and Water set to Ultra high for best results.

Anyone else find that it kills the game's fps with this on. I have a 6800GT with an Athlon XP 3200+ 1024MB DDR400 and I went from an average of about 80FPS @ 1024x768 on very high 2XAA to about 20-30 FPS depending on the how much is on the screen.

The 5900XT that could.

HDR looks awesome
. It makes some of the interior screenshots look much more like one would expect. |

So FX cards do in fact support HDR, just not this type. It's a shame Ubisoft didn't make this work with FX cards. Maybe in the future. HDR in FarCry is still only a beta feature, hopefully they tweak it out further.
