AA worked with NFSU. It's just like some other games out though where you can't use it if certain options are enabled (motion blur and light trails for NFSU). I didn't test that with this one yet.

Anyway, I like it. The city is much more interesting, the free roam is nice, it has Brooke Burke in it so that's good and the weather was a nice touch. I was driving along and it just started raining. That surprised me. Basically, if you liked NFSU you should like this one.

I didn't have fraps running but it seemed very smooth running at 1280x1024.

Edit: ...and they have my favorite fast food place in the game.

Here are some more screenshots at 1280x1024. Edit: I seem to hover around 45fps at 1280x1024 with 4xAA/8xAF. I'm currently using the 70.41s.

Downloading now, I have tried the Ps2 demo as it came with Burnout 3, I dont think I ever saw a game lag as much as Nsfu2 demo did on the ps2, it was horrible. They better damn have some optimazions up there sleves til it gets officially released... not that I plan to get it for the ps2 anyway but still.
On top of that there is no sence of speed what so ever until you need to turn ... quite like Nfs Porche unleached (great game but the sence of speed was gone).

It's really terrible if you like me just played Burnout 3 ...

I hope the PC version is better both performance wize (it should be) and gfx whize too.

Btw I think the Ps2 demo is the same as you can freely roam the city and do a few upgrades and pick a few races.

Well, that doesn't bode too well. I have Burnout 3 on my Xbox and I love it. Great graphics, great sense of speed, plus the multiplayer aspect is fun as all get out.

I'm downloading this demo, but I certainly will not have my hopes set very high.

yea the sense of speed is missing for osme reason.not enough things whipping by you fast enough maybe.

also, I couldn't configure my Logitech DFP wheel?! At first, I thought it wasn't recognized in the controls menu.. but then when I played the game, the wheel shook, and yea, I can use it.. however, the default bindings are just put in the wrong places.. bleh.

They also programmed this game to compinsate for quick jerky lock to lock inputs, with steering compensation.. I put my DFP in 900 deg mode, and wow, they made this the most non reponsive and numb 350Z lmao. you have to crank the wheel to get it turning.. Switching back to 200 deg mode and it plays more normal, although I forget how annoying it is to always be hitting the stops. ugh.. Force feedback didn't really impress me to much either...

It handles real arcady too...a little too arcady.. i don't feel like I"m actually driving.. more like guiding a boat..

Car models didn't impress me, especially the "drone" cars.. The graphics are definantly put in the glare and buildings, and the few other racer cars..

So going by this demo, I will NOT be getting this game.. I may consider it if you can tune the steering chars of the game, and actually set the binds on my wheel...

Its defintly going to be bigger then the original, but after playing that demo its not looking better.

As said before, the sense of speed is missing. Not sure if this is due to an early car in the game or just bad coding. You can make a car look nice in the first game and it would look slow if you had not of unlocked the NOS and level 3 upgrades. That may be the case here, so lets keep our fingers crosses on that one.

Im looking forward to actually seeing how far I can push the customizations more then racing on the game, so I will still get the game. I just hope nothing holds back there November 19th release date.

Internet code on the last game was terrible. There CD keys were pointless as you could use any key which did not have to be original and as ever there was to many cheaters. I may have to make a new EA account as well, because the one I have on NFSU 1 is not working in this demo No time to look into that now thou, time for work.

The performance issues may be Nvidia related - on rage3d.com, people with 6800 GT's and FX-53 CPU's are getting the same framerates as 9800 Pro owners with 2.4 ghz P4's.

Hopefully a driver update will remedy this.

So Ive tried the demo, good news is that this demo isnt half as crappy as the Ps2 one. This one is actually playable at decent speed. On the ps2 you drove a Lancer EVO, this one is cooler.

The drive feeling is so wrong ... Nsf porche all over it but with slugish camera and an aquward FOV. Ill pass on this one,
Not all is lost though, ... Gran turismo 4 is still to come
