Default Re: NFSU-2 demo!

Downloaded the demo and most definitly am getting the game! Hopefully it will be out by Xmas.

IMO its big improvement over NFSU. The menu is a much better interface. Love the fact that replay is back like NFS:HP! Graphics are great! Better than NFSU although similar. The weather effects are fantastic Its very arcady type of game play but I like that. Very cool when you hit Nitrous Boost and things blur out. Seems like pretty good sense of speed to me.

Only problems I have is demo usually crashes at some point for me. Im playing at 1024 x 768, 32 bit color, everything maxed, no AA/AF. It plays as fast as NFSU does on my setup. Im going to assume crashes are from either the Nvidia drivers Im using or a somewhat buggy demo. May also be my overclocks but nothing even gets remotely overheated on my setup.

I really like this game. It gets a Kev1 three thumbs up

Dont Like it at all, the scenery seems to be of a much lower detail, must have been to compensate for the larger maps. Also the interface seems almost cartoonish. The nitro effect looks a bit better but thats about it, coming away from the whole experience it just feels like midnight club 2.
I hope the final version looks better.

If I turn off light glow and light trails, my performance is amazingly better. I can pump everything up and even have full anti-aliasing, compared to where I used to have half settings and gets worse frame rates

After seeing it look better (wth anti-aliasing) and run smoother, I'm liking it more

I played around with the demo a bit this evening. This game is definitely an improvement over the original NFS:U. But IMO that's not really saying a whole lot. The car models and graphics in general are pretty nice. The weather effects are good, but there were points when I was driving through a tunnel that the rain kept falling. The game is still very arcadey, but the driving is much easier to manage than it was in the first game which was very much appreciated.

The AI is completely retarded, though. On several occasions in free roam mode, AI cars would just turn right into my driving path for no obvious reason, causing me to run into them. I'm also thankful that EA has not disappointed me with an absolutely inane selection of musical tunes that makes me want to rip out my eardrums.

I won't be beating down EB's door to pick this up, though it might be worth a purchase once it hits the used and/or bargain bin.

Anyone find this store yet

I think the demo is pretty buggy, I remember the original NFS:UG demo being crap compared to the final, so we'll see. Online play is a lot better this time around tho I'm deff getting this game on day 1.

BTW, if you guys cant get the cars to control good, turn off stability control. Helps a ton

Also, this is not the PC games final graphics, so dont go base the graphics off these. They couldn't fit all the higher res ( non console ) textures in under 300mb, so they used medium rez textures on the PC demo, but the slider lets you choose 'high'...even though its not high

Nice demo . cant say i'm impressed by the graphics though because its not much different than NFSU1 . i think NFSU2 will be better than NFSU1 at least for the fact that NFSU2 will include the '05 Mustang GT & some other SUVs

Well, I got it to not crash as much and look a ton better by playing with the display settings more. Game looked 100% better by turning off the Extreme/Extra Contrast setting. Also turned off AF which helped greatly, and I cant even tell a difference in the image. Turned off some other things too, forget tho what they were.

The new drift map is much better than the old ones in NFSU. Now at least you have terrain to look at and vehicles to avoid
