Default Is there a way to get rid of shimmering?

Is there a way to get rid of or lessen the shimmering in Doom 3? Looks like crawling white dots on the sharp edges. I don't know the technicalites behind why this happens, so any help would be appreciated.

Doom 3 - High Quality, 1024x768, 4X AA

Athlon 64 3200+ Newcastle, Geforce 6800GT (61.77 drivers)

It could possibly be a driver bug, but i dont experience any white dots with 61.77 with doom3

I do however with the 66.81 in cs source. Therefore im currently using 65.73, you could try these at www.guru3d.com

I hope I'm doing this right. Here's some compressed JPEGS.The first shows the shimmering in the middle. The white dots kind of have a crawling effect in motion.
The second shot the shimmering above the door. The white dots are more pronounced in motion.

Also, can someone tell me if there's a way to prevent the wavy effect on the floor tiles in the this shot?

Wow, I've got a 6800 Ultra at home and I don't get those with the 61 drivers. Odd.

Update your drivers. I think that will solve your problem.

Well i had a lot of white lines in cs sources corners, that was obviously a bug related thing (66.81)

Everyother game is just like they should be.

Perhaps the cause could be some bad memory on the vidcard.

i thought the "shimmering" came from Aliasing and Anisotropy... Aliasing is the little jagged lines, and Anisotropy is how far ahead you can see without texture quality decreasing... those 2 working together causes shimmering in my eyes...
