Exclamation Star Wars Galaxies..........

Hi, Im thinking of getting Star Wars Galaxies.

What is stoping me from getting it is that I don't own a credit card.

I know its has 30 days free subscription however I heard a credit card is required to even begin using that 30 days free.

Is this true? What the hell good are paied online payment cards for if it REQUIRES a credit card?!?

Can I just buy this game, install it, then log on and use the 30 days free w/o a credit card!?!?

I actually need somone who has the game, to tell me if they had to give or input any credit card information apon the first time playing the game.

Is there anyone here who is playing the game that does not have a credit card and is able to play the first 30 days free w/o one?

I just found out you can buy a Game Card. It's 29.99 for 60 days.. BUT

lets see...

$29.99 For Starwars Galaxies CD ROM...

then

$29.99 For Star Wars Galaxies Jump To Lightspeed Expansion

then

$29.99 For the Prepaied Gamecard.

Thats a grand total of 89.97+ Tax.

I'm sure as hell not buying the game now. Not worth it.

Thnx for the replys.

I think last month's issue of Maximum (not sure what else is in the title) magazine had a 2 week trial with it (original SWG, of course). Not sure if you need to enter a credit card for that though, but if it's like Planetside's "Credit Card" validation then you can put any crap in there and it will still work (just as long as you cancel before it needs it).

Edit: blah, I meant 2 WEEK trial, not month like I originally wrote.

I think even if I broke down and paid the $$$ for the game, the game card and the expansion, I might end up getting shafted. I have found allot of people who think the game is fubar. (I was surfing the net after my first post in this thread.) I found reviews of the game.

I can't make a true assumption of the game myself because I don't have the game to draw a fair one, however it seems there is more people who think its crap, (buggy, incomplete,SOE doesnt give a crap about replying to subscribers with issues, ect.) then there are people who love it.

I suppose I can try the game myself, but I have to pay $89.97+ tax only to find out I might become dissapointed with the game. I may not be able to return the game, nor the expansion and have to eat the $29.95 for the 60 day pre paid game card.

I saw a friend with the game, it looked interesting but I did not really have enough time to see everything or to know what it is all about. I think the exp pack with the ships is cool.

SWG sucks...I played from beta and then for 8 months...Maybe better now, but if your in the mood for an MMORPG, get EQII or WOW....I personally prefer EQII, but alot of other people like WOW...Just my 2 cents...

(PS. I was a huge supporter of SWG all the way through beta, and even during live, but they just never did what they said to make it better...)

I just finished playing my free 2 week trial. it wasn't bad at all. It's shaping up quite nicely. I have a short review up on nvidiot.com.

Yeah, SWG totally blows. Definitely don't waste you money, unless you like running around shooting rats.

Try getting the game and the expension from outpost.com. They're only charging 19.99 for Jump to Lightspeed.
