Default Too many new drivers out!! What should I use with mah 5800U?

Title says it all, guys.. what's working the best at the moment with the NV3X series?

...yes, sat, I know what the search field is for, but a buncha new drivers have popped up lately... confusing me a little...

Games I play at the moment (a very cliche'd game assortment, but hey, it's what I'm enjoying at the moment):

BF:V
UT2K4
Doom3
Halo
... and I'll be playing the flatout demo once I set some time aside...

Lemme know guys.

53.03 seems to give the least amount of headaches for NV3x folks.

You read the FlatOut demo feedback thread? Lotsa folks having problems with the 6x.xx drivers there. One GF 5 owner said 53.03 worked for him.

Hmm, it worked with 61.77, but the 66.xx driver I had caused a hard system reset around teh first turn of the race.

Bah, I hope an up-and-coming driver release helps with compatibility... I really really don't like using older drivers... I mean, heck, all the GF3's I've worked with recently get along just fine with 6x.xx drivers.

66.81's have been working great for me. the 61.xx used to have serious issues with the fan cutting in and out, but with the 65.xx and up the fan has been always on and working as it should. maybe next time you reformat give 66.81 a chance

I'm still using the 61.77 driver on a FX5800U here. I see you still play Doom3, and this driver is highly optimised for that application, and seems very stable and fast for most everything. Just remember to check the Rivatuner box that allows modification of the 'low power 3D mode' and set that equal to the performance clock, otherwise this driver has a nasty habit of downclocking the 5800U to 400/800...

I've you tried the 65.73? Those at Guru3D that have WHQL certification for all NV1x-NV4x range of cards?

I've been using for more than month with no problems at all.

Try also the NV20 path on Doom3 for some fun... While you will loose heat-haze effect there is not a much noticeable IQ loss (NV30-1-4 use native FX12 ALUs) but there should be a decent speed boost
