Someone mentioned that you could stick people to the wall with a crossbow...you could do that in the first No One Lives Forever released back in 2000...In NOLF 2 you could remove the bolt and they would crumple to the ground...I really like how the HL2 crossbow sizzles...

I like the passing of day/night in Half Life 2...And how the menu changes depending on what part of the game you are on. There are so many little touches that really make Half Life 2 stand out...

i agree regarding games being bashed. its okay to not like a game and say so, but that doesnt mean as a whole the game is no good. Take Operation Flashpoint, ALOT of people i work with hate it, but i love that game. so, that doesnt mean its a bad game cause the majority (or even one person) proclaims that it is terrible and we should all burn our copies.

Yeah well, thats what I see as the special thing about Half-Life 2. It takes all the little aspects of what 20-30 other fairly good FPS's did good at and just add it all to one game. Its simply awesome

Couldn't agree more.

Yes, the only thing i wish it did was make it easier to use grenades (a la Halo)... but that's just me being picky... I hope there's an expansion pack.

Well they are actually considering an expansionpack where you experience it all seen through Alyx's point of view! I must say, if they nailed the exp., it would simply underline HL2's superiority over all other games

But still, it has not been verified...

yeah...grenades, i have found, are pretty much useless since they never seem to go where I want them to, or, if they do, they don't seem to stay there.

I haven't even finished yet and I hope there is at least one expansion. Preferably 3.

According to a post by Valve at the www.halflife2.net forums, the "hydra", as it was called, was taken out of the game.

That was mentioned in another thread. Pretty much all the sequences previously shown at E3 were removed.

Yeah, they mentioned the Hydra in the piece of **** "Hint Guide" in the CE. The creator of that specific part said it was awesome to see it attack others, but when it came at you it was just like a blue line and you were dead. It wasn't fun, so they scrapped it. He said he hopes they can incorporate it back in at some point though, so who knows?

And how about those Antlion guards? My GOD those things are tanks!

I guess if you did'nt have the internet and bought this game you would be pissed. That the only complaint I have I bought the DVD Collectors Edtion and it took about a hour of downloading the files from steam so I could just play the game. But it was worth it.This game is awsome the graphics are perfect and the gameplay is smooth.I have checked to see what FPS I get but it is smooth at 4xFSAA ans 8x anis, does'nt matter to me as long as the game looks this good and plays this well with everthing cranked up all the way.

So true...even if it retailed for $50 it would still be a ripoff. The Steam accounts are so much better in every way (at least you don't need the disc in the drive just to play CS:S). Everytime I glance over at my CE box and think of the money I spent on it, I get this burning rage to kill someone...
