This is just the nVidia default for setting the nVidia icon (taskbar) colour and placing it in there.
It's not really needed, but some drivers have this off by default (it's supposed to be on), so I add it to all my INFs to force it on regardless.

Hope this explains it.

Here's another NVidia skin from BFG Technologies. I used to use it quite a bit. It has more of the nvidia purple and green in it. It's at the very bottom of the page...

Hey Rewt, can you tell me what the nforcepage setting does? I enabled it and I have an Nforce3 250gb and no new options appeared. What is it for?

nVidia has seemed to remove that setting from the Forceware drivers. It was a setting I found in older Detonators, so I decided to include it in the tool. But as of this moment that particular setting doesn't seem to be of any use ? I haven't had a chance to experiment with it because I've never actually owned an nForce motherboard before.

If I install this, will it mess up any settings I made with RIVA TUNER? Or in any way mess up my overclock?

No. If you overclock with RT, then overclocking will already be enabled in NVTweak (and vise versa).

Great program, but I have two questions.
I used it to enable "Clock Frequency Settings" in the CP,
but something strange happened.
"3d performance" (manual overclocking) gave me a default of 375 Mhz and I cannot overclock even 1 Mhz now. Somehow it enabled the option to overclock the low power 3d mode instead of the full power 3d mode?
Even Rivatuner says / does the same now. I guess a reinstall of the drivers should fix it, but I thought it would be something to mention.

And is the "fan always on" setting supposed to work on a 5900xt? It doesn't do anything (nor does it keep its setting).

Tnx

edit: I have the 67.66 drivers installed btw

Thanks

Overclocking Low Power 3D is not supported in the nVidia clock frequencies panel. Therefore I would suggest you stick with RT for overclocking if this setting is what you prefer.

The Fan Always On option is explained briefly in the FAQ on my website and README. Hint: It is for some cards in which the fan cuts off in 2D mode.

Cheers,

rewt

Thanks for the reply.
Just to clarify: for some odd reason the CP was trying to overclock the low 3d mode, instead of the normal 3d mode, hence the 375Mhz default instead of 390Mhz. Only a reinstall of the drivers fixed that.
Besides, I gave up on overclocking the * thing anyway untill I've found a driverset that doesn't see 55 degree Celcius as the threshold to throttle the card down.
I was hoping the fan always on option could have helped me there, because even in 3d mode the fan hardly runs, regardless of temperature.
