If I read that correctly some of the needed changes are implemented (Revision 1.570) in -CURRENT. Might take some time to trickle down to -STABLE. AFAIK src is frozen right now pending the upcoming 6.2-RELEASE.
Yes, it looks like you are right.

I am next one voting after the need to have (and use) amd64 driver.

Angry Re: FreeBSD-amd64 driver ?

So, with the amd64 PAT in HEAD(the requested interfaces appear to be there at least), we are only waiting for this one now, correct?

# Task:
design/implement better mmap(2) mechanism for
mapping memory to user space (context information, cache
attributes).
Motivation:
allows reliable creation of user mappings of DMA and
I/O memory and support for systems with more than
4GB of RAM.
Priority:
gates improved FreeBSD i386 support (PCI-E
performance, SLI support, improved reliability); gates FreeBSD amd64 support.
Status:
has not been started, pending.

Is the status on this unchanged?

It HAS to be done. We all would appreciate it so much. On top of that, as AMD64 is growing more popular you will end up making the driver sooner or later anyways, so what do you have to lose? Nothing!

One more to the "Please make drivers for FreeBSD AMD64"-list!
I'm still interrested. ^^

I'm also posting to show my support for the creation of an amd64 nVidia driver for FreeBSD.

One more.

I really would like the drivers to the 6100-6150/410-430 chipset.

Another vote for a 64-bit driver for FreeBSD.

I'm using a 7600GS.

Unhappy Re: FreeBSD-amd64 driver ?

Running amd64 FreeBSD 6.2-PRERELEASE on ASUS V2-AH2.
Which I could make use of the onboard graphics card....
-- nVidia Corporation C51 PCI Express Bridge rev 16

Looks bad on my LCD using the VESA driver in xorg.conf.

There's nothing about this yet, right?
Seems like this is not going to happen ever for *BSD users.

I imagine support will follow fairly closely after FreeBSD covers the needs of the driver in a RELEASE branch. That work can probably be accelerated with suitable application of funds; otherwise you're just *hoping* an experienced kernel developer has the time and inclination to design, write and support it. Money tends to make time and inclination

If you read back into this thread, you'll notice that nVidia -is- working with the FBSD devs to get the required kernel ABI support for the AMD64 driver.
