I normally just go in there to pick up the boot and start throwing it at everyone

Am I the only person that this is unplayably laggy for? I get 40-50 pings but it's so laggy I can't even control my character. What the hell?

It is pretty fun, when you can find a server that's not so laggy...

I really like the map "Overwatch" since it is placed in City 17. Crossfire is ok, and Bounce just sucks. I had a headache after looking at that map for 2 seconds lol. Pretty much, I've been playing the standard Overwatch and Lockdown and PWNING the [H]ardGaming Servers, lol.

Just like someone else said, "It sucks so bad when you are getting pwned, but it's so cool when you win. You just keep coming back for more . . . ."

Anyone have any tips for making HL2 DM run better? It runs like complete ass for me some times for no reason at all. For example, on Overwatch when looking toward the center building from the area that the revolver spawns in (near spawn points) it runs absolutely TERRIBLE with a couple players on the screen. It really blows, because its almost unplayable. Im guessing its under 20fps.

I still dont understand why this game has to run so bad some times... I know I know "CPU bottleneck" but for christs sake, sub-20fps just because im looking a certain direction? Sounds like crappy optimization to me... bleh.

Yeah, on my XP2000 machine it seems to dip under 20FPS quite regularly. Seems like bad coding, the single-player runs much better than that, even with as many entities in the same area. Changing settings doesn't seem to help either, which is strange because you'd think model detail and shadow detail would have a CPU hit. Oh, and the netcode is pretty funky as well, even HL1 was better than this.

I was also getting dips into the 20's on overwatch, which I thought I was CPU limited. Well I was wrong, with this X800XT it never drops below 30fps. I don't understand why since I would get the same 20fps regardless resolution or AA and AF levels.

There was a new Steam update released today, now when I try to change resolutions to full-screen above 640x480, I get a BSOD. Way to go Valve.

So there are going to be two new weapons for HL2DM, eh? I may give it a try once that patch comes out...I have yet to play it because the last time I fired it up, I BSODed.

I love HL2 DM, maybe cause I always finish in the top 3, and usually, I suck in mp games. heh.
