Unhappy 6629: Failed to initialize NVIDIA graphics device

I have a problem with the 6629 driver. I'm running SUSE 9.1 Pro (2.6.5-7.111-default) with a FX5200 and an IBM ThinkVision.

With 6611 it works all fine, but when installing 6629, X won't start. Attached is the XF86Config and the XFree86.0.log. It seems the driver can't get to the card. I've tried to switch off the box for some minutes and restart it, to no avail.

Weird, that the error I was getting in SuSE 9.2, but I eventually was able to work around (it is somewhere on this site). Prehaps the solutions are the same. Try using the install method mentioned for 9.2 and see if that works.

edit: here is the link.
