Default Alsa Support for NForce

Will there be Alsa Support in the Nforce Drivers ? A friend of mine has a a7n8x and can't use alsa because the nforce drivers only Support the Open Sound System (OSS).

Because most Linux Distributions are now providing a Kernel from the 2.6.x Tree and with alsa it is possible to use more than one programm with sound output without need of a sound server like esound or arts i hope that there will be a alsa supporting Nforce driver.

He can use the builtin kernel 2.6.x kernel drivers for nforce. They work just fine.

Yep, ALSA should handle it without any Nvidia proprietary drivers... From "make menuconfig", kernel 2.6.9 (Device Drivers->Sound->ALSA->PCI):
