Using nvclock cvs it is possible to overclock 6600gt cards. The overclockign is still VERY experimental but you can try it out. Soon a new version of nvclock will come out that will officially support it. (note that geforce6*00 overclocking is still disabled in the gtk interface)

what do you mean by "VERY experimental" ? Will the tool damage my card or will it just not work ?

There's always a risk of damaging your card when overclocking, and it probably won't be the tool's fault...

yes I know that but I want to buy a gainward card (Gainward PowerPack! Ultra/1960 XP Golden Sample, GeForce 6600 GT, 128MB GDDR3, DVI, ViVo, AGP) which can be overl****ed in windows to 520/1050 without damaging it.

The overclocking code works but isn't optimal yet. Because of lack of information the speed calculation code isn't as good as in the windows nvidia drivers. (results in a little bigger steps of overclocking; guess steps of 3-4MHz instead of perhaps 1MHz; I can enable more speeds but not all speeds are "stable" because of the lack of info)

The code works fine for the people I gave it to test. Note those people used Geforce6800 (GT) boards but it will work fine on 6600 cards too as the working is the same. Just try the code and if it gives problems contact me. (on this forum or by email or in #nvclock on freenode.net)

cvs version works fine with 6600gt agp here too!
thanks for this nice tool!

would be great to have an option to pre-apply the overclock
to the 3d-clock-mode.
right now i have to apply the values *after* i started the 3d app/game.
when applied before starting the game it defaults back to the regular 3d clock settings.

best

This stuff will be addressed in the near future once some other more important things are fixed.
