The only problem i had with the game was EAX which made the sound all distorted/scratchy, turned that off and and everything else worked fine.

As previously told, I just finished this ****a tonight, but it's getting late and I have just written something like a 2-page minireview on it in danish on some other board so I'm not really in the mood for doing it all over again. All I have to say is that it actually beats Doom3 even though I enjoyed that game too. I'm going to watch the movie ASAP and I just got a lot more respekt for Vin Diesel

Once again, great game, definently on level with Far Cry, Doom3 and Half-Life 2..

Erm... I just got the game for christmas and it seems awesome so far... but I have a minor problem of the game crashing when I die...???

It has a little error message window that pops up on the desktop and thats it. The error doesnt really explain anything.

Im using the 67.02 drivers right now if that matters.

Might be something to do with your overclocks.

I get the SbzEngine.exe - Application Error when i try to start it. Already reinstalled/restarted but no go.

(Its a 99)

Looks like that but i have the 3 spoke mustang wheels.

Thats is a WinXp service pack issue.
Either re-install (Sp1a)or(SP2).

Had the same error cause I was still running an old beta of winxp no SP's at all, just hot fixes.

Just installed SP1a and fixed the problem.

Hope that helps.

Well, now I know its not my system. I have the same problem at high resolution, switching form 1600x1200 w/2xAA to 1280x960 w/ 4xAA fixed the problem for me.

Just beat the game. Very fun game, really was a surprise considering it's getting almost no attention. Graphics were terrific, gameplay was surprisingly varied, and teh game just had a nice feel to it. Though it did have a few quirks, for one it was pretty short, even though they supposedly added 2 new levels to the PC version (which two levels were they, btw?) it still didn't quite reach "average" length for a FPS of this day and age. Also gun combat was a little wierd, and it's strange that there were only 4 guns you could use.

Still, a great game, especially for the retail price of $30. And now that the SDK and level editor have been released, I'm hoping to see some some decent addons for the game. I'm actually considering making a few levels or mini-campaign for the game myself, at least with Chonicles of Riddick anything I make wouldn't be lost in the flood of other user-made content like it would be in other games.

Oh, and here's a sceenshot of Riddick I thought looked pretty nice. With a little work it might even be able to look like it's from the movie

I just got to "the pit" and this is an AMAZING game. I have been hooked to my computer for hours... I cant stop playing.

And it isnt crashing when I die any more. Ive reloaded and died quite a bit and havent had a problem. I turned off 3d sound and EAX, and also stopped YIM from running in the background, so it could have been any of those that fixed it. I wish the voices were a bit easier to hear in some places. With 3d sound on they are almost silent some times... so I recommend turning on all of the subtitles, it really helps.

This game really really kicks ass though.

*Spoiler*
One question. When you see the first mech guy, what are you supposed to do? I just outran him and jumped on the elevator and everything seemed to work out fine. Im just hoping i didnt miss some great prize by not staying back to kill him (if its possible).

I don't think you can kill the first mech guy (maybe by hitting him in the back a bunch like you can on later ones, but I'm not sure if that would work). On the later ones you can actually pick up their miniguns after you kill them, but I doubt you could do that on the first one. Still...I might have to try that when I play the game again...
