I have it for Xbox and it was fantastic. I can only imagine it in 1600x1200 with some AA and AF with a mouse and keyboard .

The Xbox version was pretty good, although the hand-to-hand fighting was pretty weak (guess I'm just spoiled from Breakdown). Graphics are fairly nice, not as good as Doom 3, but it WAS out 6 month before Doom 3 and actually had a variety of gameplay to go with it . Doesn't the PC version include a few extra levels? For $30 it's a great deal.

The game looks good and for the short time I had with it plays cool....Oh yea! you'll be greeted with the most awesome menu graphics ever seen
I only had a few minutes with the actual game because.....It took a couple of driver changes and lots poking around to finally figure out that the game will not run with FSAA on in the nVidia driver controls
FSAA was causing a hang in the opening (in engine) videos and black screening in the game itself.
just a heads up....

Hmm....I have to play more before I can make a serious comparison of the games graphics & sound.....off the bat I'd say D3 was better coded and ran more smoothly, but Riddick is not too shabby either

Ok....Riddick is eerily similar to Doom3, if you liked the dark gloom and shadowing of D3....you're going to be right at home in Riddick.
The look and texturing is also close.
Riddick is alittle "dumbed" down in controlls and "in-game" interface due to its consol roots, but nothing too drastic. It does incl. a quick save\load feature
Performace wise I play at 1280x1024 8XAF no-FSAA and its very playable 16x12 gets a mite slow for my tastes. There are tons of video res and ratio options which should cover just about every GFX card \ display combo available.
Also, there is much more "meat" here than in Doom3, story wise...this is a good thing because its SP only. Its an immersive plot and location...all aidded by Vin D's voice to pull you along. In fact....I changed into my "wife-beater" tank and camo fatigues too play hehehe
gotta go....Darkness waits.

I got the game today. Here are some pics with Soft Shadow if you wanted to see what it looked like (no AA at 1024*768). However the the shader mode 2.0++ makes the game unplayable to me (about 18 fps) but the shader mode 2.0 is a constant 60+ frames. It's a great game so far.

Thanx, it looks very good. Is softshadows the only thing which added with shader 2.0++?

I played it on xbox version. I rented it and beat it within two days. It a nice game but story line is alittle weak and hard to catch on. It does contain that doom3 feel with the dark areas and dark shadows.

According to the information in the options menu - Yes. IMO soft shadows are not worth the performance hit since the visual benefit is very subtle.
