Step 1:
Download and install Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition, and update to the newest dat files. Scan your system at least twice and reboot.
Download link for Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition

Step 2:
Download and install Spybot Search and Destroy, update to the newest dat files and scan your system. Reboot again.

Step 3:
If you still have problems, back up your important data and FORMAT that hard drive!

This is the method I have been using at work (we have 1400+ desktop PCs) for the last year or so. Good luck bro.

Tip: Ad-Aware works better in safe mode.

yea.. at this point you might as well reformat, reinstall, immediatly patch up windows,, then immunize thru spyware, and/or use that 3rd party site blocker that spybot recommends for mozilla users...

Get yourself behind aport stealthing NAT firewall

don't download anything illegal, or go to any "shady" websites..

Your right on dsessom,

Ad-Aware and Spybot are great together with Mcaffe VX 7.
I hate anything Norton...

I have never had problems with that combination.

Of course I check for updates everyday, and scan twice a day.

And I still use XP Beta.
I don't use SP1 OR SP2.

Just selective Hot Fixes.

Never a problem.

Test,

Same here, use spybot, ad-aware SE, and if nothing else works, reformat.
However, if you're experienced enough, you could try:
HijackThis

Adaware
Spybot
CWShredder
Hijack This
and the lop.com uninstaller if they have lop.com stuff.
