The movie wasnt bad really. It was a bit cheesey but I enjoyed watching it, and hope they keep making movies in this series.

The game actually isnt based on the movie, it takes place before the movie Pitch Black (which was before the recent movie) and is about Riddick's escape from the worst prison in the universe (or something like that). Though I havent played it yet, I guess he actually gets the "glowy" eye thing during this game.

Yeah... in the game you get your "eye shine"... it is a very good game and I actually enjoyed the movie quite a bit... it had some cheesy parts... but what movie doesn't?

Wow, what a list. I don't see Halo 2 on any "Best Graphics" lists, thank God. If they would've said that, I would've flipped. Halo 2 probably is the best console shooter for 2004, but not ever. Doom 3 as the biggest disappointment? Yeah right! Doom 3 was weak and slighty disappointing in it's own way but it was still good and I really enjoyed it. Glad to see that Burnout 3 made it somewhere on the list, that game rocks. GTA:SA was good, but just something wasn't right about it and it made me quit wanting to play it FAST. Maybe the city is too big or something, who knows? I can't quite put my finger on it . . .

Nice list, but Gamespot isn't the best on reviews and stuff.

Oh, I agree completely. The ONLY reason I don't hate them 100% is because they had Band of Brothers for $60 and I had my 10% off card, I used that and the clerk just randomly gave me another 10% off. I got the set for $53 w/tax.

How can they have Halo 2 as a nominee for bigges disappointment and best shooter? Wouldn't you think those two would be mutually exclusive?
Yeah, heh...this list was a bit contradicting.

I can see how Halo 2 can be in the running for both. It's a fun shoter, no doubt the best to come out on the X-Box this year, but the ending is a major dissapointment.

I played GTA III and Vice City to completion, and the stories in those games are approaching cardboard cut-out status. Is San Andreas such an unbelieveable jump in storytelling that it deserves to be on the Best Story list? I mean, really? Especially since they've got MGS 3 and a Myst game on the same list?

I'm just waving the flag for Rome: Total War. Man that game is legendary. But yikes do its full campaigns take a long time. My current one trumps my longest Civ 3 campaign (which was, like, 14 hours)... Crazy.

Ridiculous DOES not have an 'e' in it. It comes from "ridicule" and has less than nothing to do with the colour red.

They don't have Far Cry as a nominee for best PC game? Weird.

All of these awards are so subjective. My opinion is that everyone has their own "game of the year". I say think about it this way. What is the game that you've played the MOST and had you coming back for more this year. For me it has been Battlefield Vietnam and Unreal Tournament 2004. Because of that, BFV for me is the game of the year.

Somehow I don't think anyone will mistake this for a new thread. Just my opinion.
