Hmm, since 1.0-7167 nvidia includes a workaround for this Xserver bug in their drivers so you shouldn't have any problems at all...

Code:
- Added a workaround for an X server bug with PCI-E GeForce 6800 and GeForce 6600;
 a fix has been provided to XFree86 and XOrg.
Nvidia's Linux Nforce drivers only supports the integrated ethernet/sound-chip...

hello

I have a problem. Please help me.
My english language knowledge is low. Sorry.

My machine:
Motherboard: MSI K8T Neo-V
Processor: AMD64 754 3000+
VideoCart: NVIDIA Geforce 6600 PCI Express
Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 550s (CRT)
refresh horiz: 30-61
refresh verti: 50-120

My OS: Ubuntu 5.10 "Breezy Badger"
kernel of OS : 2.6.12-9-amd64-generic
2.6.12-10-amd64-generic

The X doesn't work. Always the X was black screen and froze.
I installed Fedora Core 2/32bit a long time ago. X didn't work.
I installed Fedora Core 4/64bit a long time ago. I got message that "kernel panic", while I installed the system. Good
I thougt that the Fedora Core not supported PCI Express.
I installed Ubuntu 5.10 Breezy, but X didn't work.
I went to Ubuntu forum, and tseliot didn't know to key this problem and he send me to here.
It is more than a half year i have this problem. (pirate)

Please help
I don't set a task, but i don't have idea.

Well I have same issue with my rig, I use dual card with w/o SLi (only in windows) I have little diffrent problem with my screens, I running 3 TFT and 1 LCD projector...
The problem is not shows on all 4...only 2 of them also 2 screen on primary videocard its superb but rest of 4 also 2 on second card has this problem with cursor like a big square and so fast u roll over with cursor over a map or text its vanish
In XP windows works like a charm bur not in Fedora6same problem in open suse,10,2 and mandriva 2007 and ubuntu 6,10, and slamd64 11, Gentoo live dvd, and many other dist : ( .. and I try with

# Option "SWCursor" "off"
# Option "NoRenderExtension" "on"

but nothing changes.. same bug or what its is, oh then a other bug I cant see anything on my 2 last screen ex movie or so....its painting green colour in Totem or Mplayer but if u move to 2 first screen u can see movie ....pretty bug hooo!!!

I hope its coming a fix or something,, this is annoying of hell but until that any patch or so I waiting cool here...

My rig is : Tyan K8WE..dual of PNY6800GT..4gig of ECC ram...4 scsi disk in raid0.. audigy 4...dual Opteron 246 (2Ghz)...2 of NEC dvd burner..and last 3 TFT 19" samsung and hitachi projectors of LCD..
