Riva TNT2 64 32MB (6629) corupt display

Hello Gurus,
I am using NVidia Rva TNT2 Model 64 with a 2,4,26 kernel on a Debian Woody. I downloaded and installed the driver with the version 6629. When I start X, the login prompt does only show icons. The background is mixed up with the NVidia logo. After logging in, the console window just show th menubar. The KDE-Bar only contains some icons. When I switch to the text-console and back, an old Image is shown as background (an image I opened ours ago, before installing the driver).
Has this to dowith the RAM?

You're experiencing a bug in the 1.0-6629 driver release; please revert to 1.0-6111 until an updated driver has been released to address this problem.

I have the same problem, how do you correct it? I have a 2.6 kernel version and I cant install the 6111 version over it, if someone knows how to install 6111 version over a 2.6 kernel please tell me, I have a nvidia geforce MX 4000 and I'm having the same bug when using 6629 driver.
