Games running too fast like fast forward!

I have a strange problem my Geforce 6600GT on Suse 9.1 Linux (64 bit version) with the nvidia 6629 drivers because some games seem to run way too fast, like watching a movie on fast forward.
I have run UT2004 demo (native Linux 64bit version) and Battlefield 1942 under Cedega 4.2. Both games seem to run too fast, although in UT2004 if I quit and restart it then sometimes I geed a good synch. Doom 3 seems to be running fine. I tried to play with v-sync and other driver settings, but nothing seems to fix the problem.

WinXP runs these games fine with the 66.93 drivers (I have a duel boot system). Why is it doing this? My old GeforceFX 5200 with the 5332 drivers did not do this.

Hi,

Im not sure if this is avalible in Linux, however that happens in windows when AMD's Cool n Quiet is enabled.

If you do have that somehow enabled try turning it off.

That fixed it! I disabled Cool and Quiet in BIOS and now the games UT2004 and BF1942 under Cedega run at normal speed. Thank you!

P.S. I have the Cool and Quite software installed on WinXP Professional service pack 2 and I followed Asus setup instructions for Cool and Quite setup for WinXP to the letter! Plus I had all the latest updates... Maybee that is why I did not have a problem under WinXP.....
