Default Maybe some people did not notice HL2 and new update...

I did update of HL2, the game was screwed for some reason. Probably some corruption...

I uninstalled HL2, and Steam. I installed a new downloaded Steam, and downloaded and installed HL2.

Here is the thing.

New patch absolutely works. But! It take up to 5 minutes to load the main screen. I thought something was wrong. I hit CTRL + ALT + DELETE and saw HL2 is not responding. OK. Next time I decided to leave, because hard drive (SATA 150 10000RPM) was working. After 5 minutes the main screen showed up. I hit againg CTRL + ALT + DELETE. Holy crap it took 1GB of memory.
Awesome!!!! They loaded everything they could into main memory...
I don't suffer at all because of it...read...2GB of memory is in my spec.

I''m going to play this game all over again. It runs absolutely amazing...great job Steam!

I thought autosave didn't work. Hm...I checked out the saves, and they there are. I didn't even realized it did autosave all the time. I didn't feel any pause for a partial of second. Sounds works great...so creative wasn't a problems as some people thought...

HL2 is still stutterings on my PC. Eventhough the intensity of the stuttering itself is not as bad as it used to be, HL2 is now stuttering more often than before the patch.

Still waiting...

I'm replaying HL2 with the latest patch and it works great, I thought the game was real good first time around, but the stutter was quite annoying now it runs great, a much better experience this time round.

Playing this game second time round I have to say it bests everything.

Yeah, I'm playing through a second time now, too with a mod that gives the weapons that have real-world names their real world names...it also ups the ammo for all of them, so you can carry more nades (hand and the ones for the MP5-ish SMG), rockets, magnum shells, etc. It's nice.
