Default Firefox, everone knows: A MUST HAVE!

http://www.spreadfirefox.com/
Since I switched to Fedora, and liked Firefox in the linux distribution, I also decided to use it in WinXP.

It IS safer! I was tired of managing trusted sites and putting everything else in high security (as I was doing in IE).

If Win32 users won't switch to Linux, lets at least make sure every Win32 user uses Firefox instead of IE.

Mild agnosticism 葉he view that the existence or nonexistence of God or gods is currently unknown but is not necessarily unknowable, therefore one will withhold judgment until/if more evidence is available. A weak agnostic would say "I don't know, but maybe you do."

I know. The funny thing is, I've been making publicity for Firefox where I work (Staples), but I was sticking to Linux for browsing, and Win32 for games. Decided to scrap IE entirely.

I'm obviously a big fan of Firefox. However, it will be interesting to see how secure it is over time. People like to take their shots at the big dog (IE) which benefits the small players like Firefox. If Firefox reaches 50% or more of the browser share then we'll have a better idea of how secure it actually is. But yes, you cannot go wrong with Firefox (aside from some banking sites for example that demand IE).

No activeX is good. That alone makes Firefox a better choice. I'll check about those banking sites...

Ive been using it for a few days as well. Its great, but there are still a lot of multimedia compatibility issues that I have noticed.

Sites running real slow because of certain content. Garbled\mis-aligned text on older pages. Quicktime videos not playing (it wont install the plugin which is needed to play the videos).

Its a great browser, but Im glad I still have IE as a backup in case something isnt compatible with Firefox.

Yup, Firefox is a standalone app, you can run both browsers at the same time.

-Do you know all your WinXP processes by heart from login to logout?
-Can you notice right away when a non-disired process is running?
-Have you checked and made sure your registry is clean with Hijackthis?
-Do you know all files in windows folder and system32 folder?
-Have you at least installed windows in another folder name than the default?
-do you only browse with a limited user account?

If you answered no to any of these questions, you're up for a big surprise!
