well for me anyway but i will not let myself get into serious debt even though i will sell a kidney for an sli setup. all i have at the moment is a dfi sli motherboard. cant afford the rest yet

What kind of temps are you getting there Mike?

My Rig is annoying me with crappy temps. Cant get both cards to OC to 400/1100 without getting artifacts.

And I am pretty sure that I have good airflow.

I'm wondering if it doesn't still have something to do with the NV5's sitting so close to the back of the next PCB. Perhaps it's not allowing it to vent properly enough. What kind of GPU temps are you getting?

Your center channel sits right in front of your monitor? Doesn't that cause visual problems when you're trying to game?

I am getting around 66c on the top card and 63c on the bottom @idle and right now running rthdribl I am getting 85c Load on the top card. Bottom card isn't being used by rthdribl so it is still idle but I know it would be lower anyway. I figured the same thing that you said about it pulling warm air and that is why I put a 130cfm 120mm fan right in front of the two cards as you can see in the picture and there is a lot of cool fresh air coming from the front of the case being blown across the cards.

What's the ambient temp in the case, out of curiousity? I just get the feeling still that something's just not right, and I'm not sure that the AS5 curing (takes about 7 days or so, right?) is going to help that, but I could be way off base.

The cards are showing ambient temps of around 35c to 40c. I pulled one of the NV5 Silencer off and the GPU and all memory contacts were perfect. Hopefully it just needs some time to cure like you said.

Interesting stuff. I'll keep you posted on my results when the box is built, and we can compare how things are. You do the same.

One of my cards shows an ambient temp of 75c when I boot into windows. At load it can go as high as 105c. I tried changing the card position , but it still stayed about the same temp wise. Just don't think that this temp can be correct, especially when I'm getting decent temps on my card readings and have good airflow(intake fan blows right across this area).

Hrmm..I'm wondering. Are you both using the same drivers? Have you installed multiple drivers on the systems without clearing out the old ones? (I'm not trying to make it sound like you guys don't know what you're doing, I'm just conjecturing at this point). Is RT reporting the same temps as the driver CP?
