Anyone any ideas what might be causing this error message to appear?

Thanks for that but it really only tells me what I know and not why it is occurring.I am trying to edit my web page and each time that message comes up.I am using the same methods that I have been doing for the past two years so I cant understand what the problem is.
Any ideas? |

Any chance that your host is having problems? Does the connecting get dropped whilst you're uploading or can you not start uploading at all?
Can you publish your page through HTTP?

OK, I have now found that I can upload a photo etc direct via the AOL FTP (ie going into the directory) .I can also upload a complete web site via Front Page, although the WinInet error message does come up right at the end but the site has uploaded!
What I still can't do is make any simgular changes to the site, eg a text block or one image. It would be a pain if I have to upload the whole site each time I want to make a change as its quite a large site, image wise. Does this now mean that its a F.P. problem and not a server problem? Any ideas? |

Perhaps. I guess if the server doesn't disconnect you when you are making other FTP connections then there must be something wrong with the way FP connects. Perhaps it tries to authenticate after each file (when you only publish changes) and gets kicked by the server.
![]() I managed to find the following links, they might be of some use. WinINet error (12111) FrontPage Publish Command Fails How to troubleshoot publishing problems in FrontPage The first link and how to access the FP log file (third link) might be of most use.
