Speaking of space games in general... Star Control II was an awesome game. The third was such a disappointment to me. I never could get anywhere with it and more or less just gave up on it.

I think space combat games went downhill after the original Wing Commander and Elite, with the exception of Elite Frontier which is easlier the best space combat game ever created.

You're not a Wing Commander fan unless you have a picture of this hanging against your wall.

There appears to be a Privateer Remake project going on. Some pics here.

Yeah, I remember a Babylon 5 space sim that was supposed to be coming out, I was following it closely, but it got cancelled and I never heard anything else about it. This is great, I'm gonna have to check this out.

The original Tie Fighter - re-done with the graphics engine from the Gamecube's Star Wars: Rogue Squadron series.

Imagine that on your 6800/X800's....

yup, it was being dev for Siera games but in 1999 or 2000 they canceled it wholesale.

But the first one mod thogh not taxing on latest gen GPU is still a welcome for a Bab5 fan!

I am so sad. Now you guys reminded me that I never got Freespace 2, even though I LOVED Freespace 1 back in '98. Freespace 1 is definently on my top10 on my personal best games ever, so what wouldn't the sequal had been? I was just so damn poor back then, so I never got to buy it

I'd seriously look around for it, it was a lot better than the first one. And that's saying a lot.
