Default LUCASARTS reveals - Star Wars Empire at War -

A Strategy that you can fight both
in Space(like Homeworld 2)
and
on Ground (like Ground Control)

Scenario

Set in between chapters of the two Star Wars series, this realtime strategy game bridges Episode III and Episode IV as wars rage for control of the galaxy after the devastation of the Clone Wars and in the wake of the Jedi slaughter that has disrupted the balance of the force. Developer Petroglyph aims to bring a complex balancing system to the genre so that both inexperienced players and hardcore gamers can immerse themselves in the game.

Looks pretty nice, will be interesting to see how it shapes up. Force Commander was decent but heavilly flawed, but this one looks a lot more promising. Never heard of the developer before though...what else have they done?

Yeah at first I was like "old game, old game, 1997, weird game, ahhh...Civilization III, Sid Meier's Pirates!, Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth" This one really caught my eye... California Games - Epyx Holy crap I played the crap out of that game on my old Apple IIGS

I'm sure Lucas will find some way to screw this up completely.

I'm holding out hope for this one - it could be the first good Star Wars RTS!
