One of the most important things in the gaming industry is your IP (Intellectual Property). Its only natural a company will protect it.

If they won't release a damn game they should let somebody else do it

I agree.. but they still hold the copyright on the Duke IP until that happens. I would love another Duke game tho..

It was only a matter of time...

See, this is why you shouldn't announce a mod until it's damn close to being ready to be released or IS released. That way, you can at least get it out to a few people (and they can spread it) before being shut down. Annoucing a mod like this is just blueballing when it's canned.

Indeed. That would be a good way, to get a lawsuit on your ass. Instead of getting away with just a case and desist letter.

When the project was annoucned i wonderd "how are they getting by IP laws"

question answerd

However, i really do wonder if it was a hoax all along, maybe they just wanted to get their name out etc.

meh. They'd go down as a martyr and would inspire riots in the ranks of us gamers, the likes of which had never been seen before.

That wouldn’t help much. Their intellectual property extends much further than the name. So if it where you, you would still get a case and desist for your new and improved Puke Lukem 3D.
