The game is coming out in March 23rd, that's what the set release date was like a month or two ago. They might've delayed it to April or May, but no more than that. They didn't just announce it in March a month ago, and now realize they have another year. This game is coming in 2-3 months definetly.

We have some breaking news for you today, Battlefield 2 has been delayed. At an Electronic Arts teleconference today, they announced that Battlefield 2 will be delayed to the first fiscal quarter of 2006(April-June 2005).

They need some more time to make a deal for an exclusive license to the FPS genre before they release it.

Might be possible, but i doubt it. ID would probably have buyers choice, failing that an auction. I mean, ID practically invented the genre with Wolfenstein 3D. (Do not mention Duke 3D as the first 3D game. 3D realms haven't released DNF yet, so Duke 3D doesn't classify.)

Why would Duke 3d be classified with Wolf3d?
Wolfenstien 3d = 1992
Duke Nukem 3d = 1996

Oh and just out of curiosity, I looked up the first FPS game. And here it is in all its 1977 glory

Because some people don't classify Wolf 3d as a 3d shooter. They say it's only a 2d shooter.

What gaming engine is BF2 using? I take it they made their own for BF2? The graphics look amazing and I hope that it will run good on today's high end PCs. Can't wait for the demo. I hope they put out a MP demo so everyone can play
