Well I just bought BOOH today and omfg. I would expect to play a game at 1fps over 5 years ago, but not now. What the hell (excuse the poor pun) have they done to the engine. I didnt spend to much on it, so no real loss I guess.

Very disapointed in this exp pack.

If you're playing it on a FX5700 don't expect great performance without turning off some of the special effects like 'bloom' , i found the same thing with my previous GFX card(FX5950ultra) but my 6800 rips through it nicely

Yeah I turned Bloom off, still the same. I havnt got time to play with the settings now, but I will have a mess around with them tonight when I get home from work. The 1.61 patch messes up my original Painkiller as well, thats gone the same so I know its the engine thats hogging something with some stupid effect.

Hmm..ok, i've had a bit of a play around with the 1.61 patch and not sure what to make of it really. Before i installed the patch i defragged and restarted my comp then i ran the two in-built benchmarks (c5l2 & c5l1) three times each with reboots in between each run, i also loaded up some level start points and saved checkpoints with showfps 1 enabled and noted the FPS, then i installed the patch, defragged and repeated the process and here's how it all came out:

Benchmark c5l1(pre-patch): 156.47,156.45,156.29 fps
Benchmark c5l1(pst-patch): 158.22,157.33,157.67 fps

Benchmark c5l2(pre-patch): 116.34,115.08,115.89 fps
Benchmark c5l2(pst-patch): 111.47,115.89,115.93 fps

Some Level S/Shots & FPS

Cemetary(pre-patch): 136 fps pic
Cemetary(pst-patch): 97 fps pic

Atrium(pre-patch): 201 fps pic
Atrium(pst-patch): 118 fps pic

Catacombs(pre-patch): 187 fps pic
Catacombs(pst-patch): 131 fps pic

Well I have been messing with this for nearly an hour now and all I can say is that I am very disapointed with this exp pack. My last resort was turn everything (and I mean everything detail wise) to Low... this didnt help at all still getting what looks like 1fps. The system requirments on this are very false imho. It should read in red letters "Will only play half decent on a GeForce 6 series card"

Very disapointed... I have no intention on buying a 6800 for one game... This can wait till Im good and ready to buy a new gfx card. No major loss.

Interesting results there macatak .. thought whats more important is the BOOH performance .
if you could do some screenshot w/fps comparsion in BOOH .. that will be awesome . i dont have the game installed right now or i would do it .

I've been contemplating buying the expansion pack, but after playing the demo and having it run terribly (compared to the original) I think I'm going to skip it.
