White box on desktop

Well, my friend had lots of problems with his audigy 2 zs and it seems sorted out now with many driver installs/updates. Now he has this little white box on his desktop about the size of an icon that just wont go away. you can not right click/double click/move it at all, there's just nothing there.. its as if its just a hole in his desktop. Really odd.. it does not appear if he logs on a guest acount or in safe mode. Any heard of such a bug? cause and fix would be nice

If nothing i'll just have him create a new account on winxp and del this one with the problem.

Sounds like your friend has a texture/wallpaper set centred on the screen.

Sorry, the problem is just a discribed, no user fault here

All diff backgrounds ect do not change this, there is litteraly a "hole" in the desktop

::edit:: ok, he just took my advice and created a new user and del that one.. still interested if anyone has ever seen this before though.
