Yes, use the function "Import" and select the backup file nHancer has created automatically when you started it the first time.

You'll find that backup in "c:\documents and settings\all users\Application Data\nHancer". The backup file has an .xml extension, so you have to switch the "Files of type" field in the open file dialog to XML Files.

Select the file "nvapps_backup_<driver version>.xml". There might be more files like that, use the latest one (activate the "details" view to see the dates when the files were created).

The directory "Application Data" is hidden by default (I'll never understand MS' reasoning behind that!). To make it visible, check the option "Show hidden files and folders". You'll find that option by opening an file explorer window, in the menu Tools->Folder Options on the page "view". Make sure you also press "Apply to all folders" after you changed that option.

Sounds more complicated than it is... If you have problems with the procedure, let us know. We'll be happy to help!

nHancer 1.1.3 Beta (.NET 2.0 and Windows 64bit)

I finally came around to finish a beta of the .NET 2.0 and Windows XP 64bit compatible version!

For this version I had to rewrite the code that auto-detects any change in the registry and profile database and updates the user interface accordingly. The old code wouldn't work in .NET 2.0. This was among other things the reason why this version took such a long time to be finished.

Note: There is a known problem with Windows 64 bit. When starting nHancer for the first time, it fails to create the backup of the registry (I havn't figured out why yet). Just acknowledge the error message and nHancer will then work correctly.

Get the 1.1.3 beta here!

The file I uploaded yesterday which was supposed to contain the x64 Version of nHancer, actually contained the 1.1.2 beta...

I've now uploaded the correct file and you can get it now from the same link. Make sure that you clear the cache, otherwise you might get the same, old version from you cache.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

I would like that nHancer will let delete pre-made game profiles in a mass way, without going one-by-one. Great software btw, I love nH.

There is a reason that this function is not there.

There are two reason for nVidia to include standard profiles: SLI and compatibility.

If you don't have SLI, you can delete all the profiles that don't do anything else but enable SLI without any disadvantage.

But many profiles also fix some compatbility problems with those games. And therefor it's not a good idea to delete those profiles, you might end up in not being able to play those games.

One of the upcomming releases of nHancer will support to hide all unchanged default profiles. That should help keeping your own profiles organized without cluttering the list with all those profiles you don't care for.

I've just finished the latest beta of nHancer. You can get it here:

www.nhancer.com/downloads/nHancer1.2_beta6.zip

Highlights
  • Optional Tray Icon mode - Change global options quickly with the tray icon menu
  • Force Triple Buffer option (OpenGL games only)
  • Adjust LOD BIAS option (get rid of any shimmering!)
  • Added two more Anti-Aliasing modes
  • Added Force DXT3 option (OpenGL games only)
  • Function to remove all unneccessary profiles for non-SLI systems
  • Function to restore original driver procided profiles
  • New option: "Show experimental modes", hides all confusing modes if not active
  • SLI Anti-Aliasing modes
  • SLI Stereo setting
Blue entries are interesting for SLI users only!

A complete list of changes is listed in the enclosed readme file as usual.

Please remember that this is still a beta. It's publicly available, and I have thoroughly tested it, but there might still be bugs in there.

Still on my list of planned items is a function to hide (not delete) all standard driver profiles and a way to store multiple profiles for a application which can be switched on the fly.

I'm happy as always to hear your comments and thoughts!

I fixed three bugs in beta 5 and uploaded beta 6.

Checkout www.nhancer.com/downloads for beta 6 and a list of the corrected bugs.

Sorry for any inconvenience!

Also, XP64 users should be aware that this beta doesn't work on XP64. I have to create a separate XP64-compatible version. As long as Microsoft doesn't release .NET 2.0 officially, I have to maintain two different code bases for the two systems.

I hope I'll be able to complete the 64 bit version of nHancer today.
