They can tank for lower level mobs but not for group based mobs, Thier AC is not as good as any plate or chain wearing class.
Priest's aren't dmg dealers but can also do a decent amount as a last resort, consider Monks a last resort tank... |

your thinking is EQ1...not EQ2 it not suppose to be like that..they made it supposedly that any fighter archtype can tank, so you dont have to sitting around LFG waiting for the warrior..or waiting for a cleric..like in EQ1 Their AC is not about wearing armor..it about avoidance...guardians use mitigation, but monks use avoidance.

I have to say, I don't think monks should tank anyway. They are DPS as others have said. They sit to the side or behind and deal damage while the true tanks (zerkers and guardians) with the heavy armor take damage in the front. Yes monks are fast, but some mobs are fast to, thus you will get hit from time to time. I agree they shouldn't have nerfed as bad as they did though, but it does make sense to some degree..I'm a bit bumed myself as my level 10 alt is a rouge. Might be time to re-roll. At least he's only 10...They nerfed my main a while back but not too bad (25 zerker)...

See. Thats why I quit my 24 monk, I couldnt effectively tank or anything. it was really depressing

Well I went back to my wizard for now, he not as bad as my monk..and at least Moorgaurd admitted there is an issue with wizards/warlocks and they plan on adjusting it soon...though I dont beleive everything sony promises with their track record...but at least got a better chance...lol
and for the record I have had Shadowknights out DPS me as a wizard...so they not as bad as you think they are
