I went out an picked up this game. And, it looks very promising. I don't know how I passed this one up the first time.

I do have one problem though. When I have enabled a pistol, see a turret, or someone carrying a pistol or other gun, there is a square in front of the barrel with what looks like a muzzle flash map. This can be seen when the gun isn't even being fired. Is this something that can be fixed within the DeusEx.ini file or User.ini file?

Game version is 1112fm btw.

You have to download the latest patch for the game. Go do www.deusex.com and get it. Its around 30 megs, so if you are on dial-up, just let it go overnight. Shouldn't take that long anyways, but yeah, its a problem with D3D and NV cards I think. Patch fixes it and adds multiplayer.

Yeah, I had installed the patch right after I installed the game. That still doesn't help. It doesn't really look good, but I guess I can deal with it.

Using the 40.72's. Guess I will try D3D and see what happens. I like OpenGL better. Maybe it won't be so bad.

Whoa! Added the D3D lines to the DeusEx.ini file and everything was like 5 fps. Weird. Going back to OpenGL I guess. Either that or try another Detonator set.

Don't edit the INI file, just run the game in safe mode and change the option.

d3d is best for me. 1600x1200x32 with everything on and it chugs away at 60-70 fps

But I think the other one where you destroy... you know.... is the ACTUAL ending and leads up to Deus Ex 2.
No, the Illuminati ending leads to DX2.
